Disagreeing Better | ASU+GSV Summit 2026

Julia Minson (Harvard University) and Olivia Eve Gross (Founder, Studium, and Creator, High School Law Review) join moderator Liz Willen (The Hechinger Report) at the ASU+GSV Summit in “Disagreeing Better” to explore how constructive disagreement can strengthen learning, leadership, and problem-solving.

We are in a disagreement crisis—and the cost is more than cultural. It’s limiting how we learn, lead, and solve complex challenges. The ability to disagree constructively has always been essential—and in a world defined by rapid change and AI-powered scale, it’s never been more urgent.

Inspired by Dr. Minson’s book, How to Disagree Better, this session explores how to move beyond polarized discourse to build a culture of curiosity, receptiveness, and rigorous thinking. From classrooms to campuses to companies, the conversation examines what it takes to foster constructive disagreement at scale and prepare the next generation to engage across differences.
