The CARES act provided funding across the pre-k-workforce continuum, with the goal of stemming short term gaps—and providing needed support for structural shifts toward online learning, up- and reskilling displaced workers. From tax credits to tuition assistance, a maze of new policy proposals have been introduced. Which will pass and will real funding follow new ideas? Will policymakers simply tinker around the edges, or will pandemic driven policies usher a new era of education?
