Putting Students at the Helm of Their Learning: Re-thinking Middle School at CWC
We believe that the time is now for re-envisioning the middle school experience. CWC, a national charter network serving intentionally diverse groups of students, is developing an ambitious vision for a school model. During the redesign process, we have translated this vision into an initial series of pilots, based on two program components of our new model. ""The Learning Fellowship"" is a progressive experience designed for students to develop skills of self-understanding, empathy, cultural competency and self-efficacy. ""Courses"" in an interdisciplinary space that aims to grow student skills within key areas of critical thinking, systems thinking, communication, and global advocacy.
