Edtech with Intention: Starting with Outcomes for Effective Implementation

With the explosion of edtech products on the market and in classrooms, students are accessing, on average, 45 unique products a year. Yet there is scarce research into if or how these products are being used or their effectiveness on student outcomes. An often seen gap in edtech decision-making is a deep understanding of the goals for tool use and how to use the tool effectively to meet these goals. This session will explore learnings from our research with the first Outcomes Based Contracting edtech cohort, and create interactive discussion and collaboration opportunities for participants to identify challenges in existing processes and consider how strategies and approaches from this model can be scaled and implemented to ensure that edtech tools are being used with intentionality to support teaching and learning success.
