In fast-changing fields like advanced manufacturing and cybersecurity, states can’t afford multi-year lag times between industry change and what shows up in classrooms. This panel spotlights two efforts in action: Ohio’s Manufacturing Pathways Pilot and Alabama’s cybersecurity pathways work. Panelists will unpack how states and backbone partners are building the “system architecture” for scale when the skill targets won’t sit still: clear roles and governance, backbone supports, employer and postsecondary partnerships that refresh quickly, data for continuous improvement, and practical supports that reduce friction for schools. Participants will leave with a transferable set of moves for designing pathways that are both durable and adaptable in an era of rapid technological change.
