As virtual schooling continues to expand, educators are exploring new ways to connect digital learning with hands-on, place-based experiences. Research shows that students deepen understanding and develop critical skills when they engage in three-dimensional, applied learning.
In this Glass Classroom, participants will explore how digital fabrication and mobile learning environments can extend virtual instruction into real-world problem-solving. Drawing on examples from a partnership between Pearson’s Connections Academy and TIES, the session will highlight how students engage with fabrication tools, design challenges, and AI-enabled workflows to build practical skills.
This will be an interactive session where participants can examine student projects, engage with the tools being used, and discuss how similar hands-on approaches could be adapted to different learning contexts.
