Reimagining Work-Integrated Learning: Bridging Higher Education, Industry, and EdTech

As the nature of work continues to evolve, so must our approach to preparing students for successful careers. Traditional work-integrated learning (WIL) models - such as internships - have long provided valuable real-world experience, but they are not accessible to all students and often fall short in meeting the dynamic needs of today’s workforce. To ensure every learner gains meaningful career-connected opportunities, we must embrace innovative, technology-enhanced approaches to WIL that bring together higher education, industry, and educational technology partners. This panel will explore how collaboration between these key stakeholders is unlocking new, flexible WIL experiences that better serve learners and employers alike. The session will also highlight The Work-integrated Learning Accelerator, an ambitious initiative led by Arizona State University that will be leveraging cross-sector partnerships to design and implement innovative approaches to WIL. Attendees will learn how this collaborative effort is designed to reshape workforce preparation and how higher education institutions, industry leaders, and EdTech innovators can take part in this movement to redefine the future of learning and work.Join us for a forward-thinking discussion on how technology, employer engagement, and new WIL models are transforming education-to-career pathways—and how your organization can play a role in this next-generation approach to workforce readiness.
