More than often, learning experiences in the average classroom are disconnected from the practical skills and needs of the “real-world”. The classroom is a subset of the real-world and this session details concrete ways to make explicit connections between classroom content standards and problems/gaps that community organizations are exploring. Participants will explore a challenge-based experience to understand how the skills of innovation and design can be explicitly taught in the classroom. Participants will also learn about Iovine and Young Center laboratory experiences such as Impact labs, Industry labs and the Garage Experience.
