Tricia Bertram Gallant, Ph.D. is the Director of Academic Integrity Office and Triton Testing Center at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), President Emeritus of the International Center for Academic Integrity, and former lecturer for both UCSD and the University of San Diego. She has chaired GenAI workgroups and participated in the development of AI Literacy modules and helped instructors adapt pedagogy and assessment design for the age of AI. Tricia has authored, co-authored, or edited numerous articles, blogs, guides, book chapters/sections, and books on academic integrity, artificial intelligence, and ethical decision-making. Her latest book - co-authored with David Rettinger - “The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for Integrity in the Age of AI” (University of Oklahoma Press, 2025) has been widely adopted for faculty development and book clubs within higher education and K-12. Her next book on Generative Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity - co-authored with Mary Davis (UK) & Zeenath Khan (UAE) - will be published by Cambridge Elements in 2026. Tricia has consulted with educational leaders and faculty and spoken about artificial intelligence, education, ethics, and integrity at institutions around the world from Australia, Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea, to Egypt, Montenegro, Ukraine, Denmark and England, and to Canada, United States, Mexico, Chile, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. She is known as an empathetic communicator who can present simple understandings of complex topics while providing concrete steps one can take within their own spheres of agency and yet still challenging the status quo.
